Monday, 21 APR 08. Unplanned.
That pretty much sums up last week. And as we all know, prior planning prevents piss-poor performance. As it was, the week was pretty piss-poor. It ended on a high note, other than the usual buyers remorse:

A Taurus Ultralite in .38 spec +p. I know, I have too many handguns already - but the one that I have that looks remarkably like this one has been given away, someone who needed some peace of mind a bit more than me. It helps to know that whether it is actually being thought of, they have something that will go bang when called upon - which can be a good thing.
Friday was good, got some Bass fishing out of it. Probably pissed off my neighbor to no end by the end of it. Just my personality, I guess it can't be helped. Rest of the week was an unplanned couple days off from work, a respite from my days being the only one there to take care of the place with one or the other out for thier reasons. Nice to have the time, was able to be there for Dad to have his procedure done on Wednesday. Bad for me to have it. Worst part of the week? 7+ days all by myself, and do I get any calls from any of my so-called friends? One, thats it, one person only calling to ask about some scuttlebutt at work. What a load of crap. Good to know I'm not missed.
Thursday, 13 MAR 08. A couple of lessons.
For those of you who don't know, reloading can be dangerous. No, not just slapping another magazine in the weapon, I mean actually manufacturing your own ammunition. I have been doing it for a while now, couple of years, and tonight I made two VERY important discoveries. First, never attempt to fix a problem with a rifle cartridge without making sure that the cases are lubed appropriately. I tore the rim right off a .223 cartridge and now have no way to get the stuck case out of the die. Kinda sucks, Dies are expensive. Have to be a trip to Wal-mart ofr that one. Also, and slightly more of a "Well no shit, dumbass" moment is that you shouldn't drill through the bottom of the case to put a stuck shell remover in there if the primer happens to be present. I wore goggles, thankfully, and it was only about as loud as a capgun going off- but it could have been MUCH worse. So, this lesson is monetary and physical. I think I may have lost a bit of eyebrow. Not a bad track record for me - first time I had anything like this happen. I know I have reloaded well over 3000 rounds of handgun, total....between 9mm, 45, and 38/357. And probably 500 + of rifle. I don't have many rifles that need reloading for. Hell, .223 isn't really economical to reload, unless yer talking precision rounds. The stuff I'm shooting for is pretty much paper-punching, nothing too crazy. I would like to use the AR to do some groundhogs, coyote, varmint, etc. - just sucks that I have no land to have any such varmints on.
God I need some land.
Tuesday, 26 FEB 08. Yeah, nobody was paying attention anyway.
So - what's changed? Nothing, really. Trying to figure out what to do next. Middle management sucks, especially right now that my co-manager is out after having her child. Leaves me holding the bag at what is possibly the busiest time we have ever faced. The new computer system goes up on Saturday, Flu season has really kicked our asses so far, the hospital census has been well over 400 patients (100% is 390 patients), and I am understaffed. I worked for 13 days straight before this weekend. The only way I survive right now is by forgetting things - if all of it piled up on my head, I'd be a goner.
Any fun stuff? Well, a Henry .22 has been occupying some of my time, along with a semi-renewed interest in weight training. Along with that interest comes being hungry all the time - that part sucks - trying to lose weight and having your body interested in food again. It was better when I stopped caring. Captains of Crush Grippers - these things are pretty incredible. I can't believe anyone can use them all the time - I have 3 of them - trainer, #1 and #2. Trainer is somewhat easy, #1 I can do about 3 reps with, #2 I can only close 3/4 of the way. Heavy. I think I may take #2 to my office, and people can only complain about something if they can close it all the way. That'll shut 'em up. Nah, not really. I have expanded my reloading hobby to contain 3 handgun and 3 rifle calibers. Pretty cool. Looking forward to seeing how my .223 ammo shoots, as soon as I get a rifle chambered in that caliber.
So - what are you guys doing?
Saturday, 10 NOV 07. Wow, what a long time.
What's shakin? Other than my belly, that is. So - changes - I have been downgraded to middle management, pulling in a little more money now. Not saying much. Trying to get through the end of the year and Deer season - hoping to have some luck there. Just got one with a day at the 'rents and putting up my new treestand. Much better than the last treestand I bought, but you can tell that it is still kinda a cheapy...I don't really care what it looks like, as long as I have some good safety there. Falling out of a tree is not my understanding of a good day.
H is still here, thank god. She is currently asleep on the couch. We're an exciting bunch. Usually in bed by 10, unless its a weekday - then maybe earlier. At least I haven't let myself get into the run of Reality TV.
I'm hoping to make some changes here to reflect the changes that have happened to me. No, I haven't lsot weight. No, I haven't made a million. With the changes in the world, I have become a bit more cynical, a bit more irritable, and a bit more distrusting of my Gov't. A bit more active in aspects that I never thought I would be. Paranoid? Well, let me tell you - even paranoid people have enemies.
Keep an eye out. The site will not be redesigned to be fantastic. Look for old happy HTML. No flash for the fat kid. Check out the Album for some good old pics.
